Solo Players in Destiny 2 Voice Concerns Over Detrimental Modifier Impacting 'The Coil

In Destiny 2, gameplay modifiers add an extra layer of challenge to activities, ranging from straightforward adjustments like Ironclad to more intricate changes like Airborne, requiring players to adapt their playstyles. However, not all modifiers are well-received, and the Destiny 2 community is currently voicing concerns about a specific one affecting The Coil.
Solo players in Destiny 2 are expressing discontent with The Coil's active modifier, known as "Togetherness." A Reddit post lamented the state of modifiers, accusing Bungie's decision-makers of not paying attention to the actual game. The disgruntled Guardian argued that Togetherness, which reduces health regeneration unless a player is near a teammate, unfairly punishes solo players. The post accused Bungie of "screwing over solo players" with modifiers like Togetherness, making it challenging for players who aren't exceptionally skilled.

The sentiment resonated with others in the community, with one player stating that the modifier needs to be removed as it is not enjoyable or challenging but rather frustrating. Another player, attempting to find value in Togetherness, admitted that it feels constraining and just not fun, even if the underlying concept isn't entirely bad. A prevailing opinion in the comments suggested that Togetherness is disliked by the community, even when functioning as intended.
Togetherness will persist as the modifier in The Coil until the weekly reset on January 2, 2024. The community awaits news on its replacement, speculating on possible modifiers such as Attrition, Grounded, Galvanized, and Epitaph.
